What emotions does this bring up? Do you feel peace or impending doom? Why?
Once you identify how something makes you feel, explore why that is. That is when the story starts to take hold. Finding the deeper feelings of your own can help you to develop your characters. Not to be like you, but when you ask why you feel a certain way you begin to see things differently. Once you've had that mental shift, you can ask the same of your characters.
